There is a local joke in Mexico that says that all of our food has tortillas, cheese and salsa. For part of it, it may be true.
A sauce made mainly by chilies, seeds, and chocolate. You eat this sauce with chicken or turkey.
Escamoles are ant eggs cooked with butter and garlic. As weird as it sounds, it is actually amazing.
Real mexican tacos
A typical Mexican plate that has a fatter tortilla then you put beans and chicken with some salsa and cheese.
Fried tortillas cut into pieces with salsa (it may be red or green) and you put sour cream and cheese on top.
An alcoholic beverage
Aguachile is a mixture of lemon juice, salt, and something spicy and we use this mixture to "cook" some seafood like shrimp.

Mexico City is very beautiful and safe for tourists, but stay away from certain places, and try not to walk alone at night. If searching for a place to stay, try to stay at El centro histórico, La roma, La condesa or Polanco. Enjoy your stay you are at the most amazing city in the world.
